Our recent poll indicated more than 70% (seventy)
of  the patients attending "Methadone Maintenance T
reatment"  were dissatisfied.

We are asking all of you to take the time and let us know why you are not satisfied?  If you are in the 30% (thirty) satisfied then share with us what
is responsible for your program's success?

First, I want each and every one of you to know just how important you are to
Medical Assisted Treatment of America.  Since the opening of Medical Assisted Treatment much has happened with methadone.  It was much easier in 2004 to mediate on your behalf with "Methadone Maintenance Programs." Now, it has become virtually impossible.

There are many people fighting against methadone.  Many people have lost loved ones to methadone. I know most all of us can identify with their pain. These people have joined together to form organizations...they are more than one of them. They are receiving funding and they are fighting for more stricter
regulations on methadone.  I really hate to say what I'm going to but I always
promised I would level with you.

I believe the words to follow should have been said before now.  It's time all of you wake up before it is too late. These organizations are winning...it doesn't mean they are right. If we don't make a showing, they will win by default. If you are on "methadone maintenance" and don't want further restrictions  then it is time for you to ask,"How can I help?"

We agree there need to be changes made but not the ones they are wanting to institute. Methadone needs no further regulations.  It is regulated now more than any other drug. There needs to be changes made on the inside especially with the way our economy is headed. It cost enough just to pay for the methadone
but to drive there every day to dose with the price of gas rising is beginning to affect many of the patients.

Many patients have to drive more than 100 (one-hundred) miles there and back.
I think all of you can see where I am headed.  If changes are not instituted many
patients will have no other choice but to return to the streets. It may not be you but most all of us are only one pay check away ....need I finish?

I'm asking you to start by reporting your program.  We are trying to draw up a list of changes we, as patients feel, need to be instituted.  Will you help us???

We do need the name of your program. city and state it is located in. It is totally
your decision whether to leave your name or remain anonymous.

Thank You.
